Summary

Twitter TLDR does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All processing happens locally on your device.

Data collection

This extension collects no data whatsoever. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected.
• No browsing history is recorded.
• No analytics or telemetry is sent.
• No cookies are set by the extension.
• No data is transmitted to any server, API, or third party.

How the extension works

Twitter TLDR reads tweet text directly from the page DOM on x.com and twitter.com. The text is summarized entirely within your browser using one of two methods:

• On-device AI (Gemini Nano) — Chrome's built-in Summarizer API processes text locally on your machine. The AI model is downloaded and managed by Chrome itself, not by this extension.
• Extractive algorithm — A lightweight, rule-based summarizer that runs in the content script. No network access is used.

In both cases, tweet text never leaves your browser.

Permissions used

• storage — Used to save your preferences (enabled/disabled, minimum tweet length, summary length) via chrome.storage.sync. This data stays within Chrome's built-in storage and is never sent externally.
• Host permissions (x.com, twitter.com) — Required to inject the content script that reads and summarizes tweets on the page.

Third-party services

This extension does not use any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs. There are no external network requests of any kind.

Children's privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the revision date.
